Project:
Philadelphia Residence
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Facility End Use: Residence
Facility Type: New Construction
Completion Date: Fall 2008
Follansbee Product: TCS II®
When the owner of this Philadelphia, PA residence began considering roofing options, copper and zinc originally topped their list of material choices. TCS II, with its durability, long lasting performance and sleek aesthetic appeal, proved to be a better choice, and was ultimately selected for the new home. The terne-coated stainless steel lends a stunning look to the traditional residence, its gray patina blending well with the stone facade.
Approximately 4,000 square feet of TCS II was installed as a standing seam roof. Sno-Gem snow guards lend an added element of functionality, providing a barrier against snow and ice.
Construction on the home began in fall 2006 and was completed in fall 2008.
TCS II is an architectural stainless steel coated with Follansbee's patented ZT® (zinc/tin) alloy. Having withstood over 30,250 hours of ASTM salt spray testing with no signs of failure, TCS II proves a perfect choice for structures in industrial, coastal, and salt-water environments. The terne-coated roof requires no painting, instead weathering naturally to an attractive gray patina. TCS II is solderable and virtually maintenance-free.
